The Barn of Pearl River, A Love Story.
Once upon a time in an enchanted place called Pearl River, my young prince, Adam, fell in love with a beautiful princess, Katie. He proposed, she said yes, and suddenly their happily ever after began. Katie’s dream wedding was a barn wedding with rustic accents and shabby chic decor. So the task of finding such a place began, but we just could not find the perfect place. One day I said, “Well, we will just have to build it!” Adam said, “Mom, are you sure” And I said, “Yes, we can do this!” The building started out as a barn built for a dream wedding that could later be used for my horses. Our two families came together, bride and groom - our workforce! Luckily, my dad does demolition work and saves everything. From the scraps, we formed a plan. All the old lumber, windows, lights, and more - what a blessing! In July, we got busy and everyone pitched in. Family and friends - everyone worked hard! This was the once-in-a-lifetime special day when our children were getting married.
A lot of love and hard work was put into the Barn. As the building process went along, Katie would come up with Pinterest ideas and say, “We can do this or we can have that!” Now, the horse barn had crystal chandeliers, a wooden dance floor, and so much more! The wedding was rapidly approaching - November 8, 2014. Adam would ask me, “Mom will it be finished on time?” I would say, “Of course it will!” Finally, through all the hard work, it was finished and perfect. A beautiful start to a happy life for our wonderful children, Adam and Katie!
Now we are blessed with a beautiful granddaughter, Laynie. She is the grand prize that we all worked so hard for, and we are truly blessed! All of this came to be because two people fell in love! And they lived happily ever after!
The History of the Barn
The Barn of Pearl River was established November 8, 2014. It was originally built for a family wedding, but has since become a venue that anyone can use for their engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception. Our barn is made entirely of re-purposed wood, and antique decorations to give it an authentic rustic atmosphere. We know that many brides are looking for a complete wedding package which is why we include all services for your convenience. Our venue can accommodate up to 300 guests at a time, which makes it perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings, or a larger celebration. Separate charges apply for ceremony packages and rehearsal dinner packages.
